NJ Governor implements guardrails on AI data center expansion

Last month, NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill signed legislation establishing monitoring and community assistance programs for new data centers in the state. The idea was first proposed in March of this year, aiming to increase transparency between developers and neighboring communities and ensure that residents aren’t bearing the brunt of the energy burden brought on by these facilities.
