An Introduction to Noise and the Law with QC Legal Advisory Chair Rick Reibstein, JD, who discussed existing laws at the federal, state, and local levels relevant to noise and the challenges of implementation and enforcementm, and steps citizens can take before or even while initiating a lawsuit.
A Pathway to Quieter, Healthier Land Care with QC collaborator Dan Mabe, American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) President and CEO, and special guest Dan Brotman, Glendale, CA, former mayor and city councilmember. Members learned about the AGZA approach and how Glendale became the largest city in the nation to earn a AGZA Certified Green Zone designation by converting all handheld landscape maintenance equipment to cleaner, quieter electric.
From Quiet Florida to a nationwide Quiet Streets program with QC Quiet Streets Chair Mary Tatigian and Lt. Dave Breuning from the Collier County Sheriff’s office who shared how action to address noise from modified mufflers in Florida has spurred a movement.
