Lagos plagued by noise pollution
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency revealed this week that noise pollution was the top environmental complaint in 2025. Of 8,437 cases reported to the agency, 3,300 were for noise. LASEPA’s leader said that many cases were resolved, but enforcement will be stricter in 2026.
New York Times gives advice on managing rental noise
A New York Times real estate columnist offered words of wisdom to tenants struggling to make their landlords enforce noise rules. To a tenant dealing with an upstairs neighbor who clomps around at all hours of the day, Jill Terreri Ramos suggested reviewing one’s lease to see if it includes language about quiet hours. One can also politely ask the neighbor to quiet down, or to add a pad beneath a loud fan or filter.
