Florida residents fed up with pump station noise
Cape Coral, Florida residents say the rumble from temporary diesel-powered pumps at a nearby pump station has become untenable. The neighbors say the station was supposed to be done months ago, but the project remains incomplete and temporary pumps run all the time. As a result, some homeowners have made changes, like soundproofing their homes. One person claimed they emailed the City of Cape Coral several times with barely any response.
Noise cameras at work in Maryland
A new traffic noise camera will record license plate numbers and issue warnings to loud cars in Maryland. The camera will issue warnings when cars exceed 85 decibels. The camera is operated by the Prince George’s County Police Department under a pilot project established by the Maryland state legislature. Montgomery County has a similar pilot program. A local public official said he’d received a lot of complaints about traffic noise and modified exhausts.
