Noise hypersensitivity in dogs
Quiet Coalition Chair Dr. Daniel Fink, MD, reviews recent research on noise hypersensitivity in dogs, discussing its findings and calling for “A quieter world will be a better and healthier world for all”, including dogs.
Noisy cicadas are coming
Billions of noisy cicadas are set to emerge soon in 13 eastern U.S. states as part of their 13–17-year life cycle. Their loud mating calls, which can reach 100–120 decibels, may cause stress or discomfort, though the insects are harmless. Cicadas' mass emergence helps them survive predators and reproduce. While nature is usually quiet, cicadas are a rare, natural exception.
