PRITHWIJIT ROYCHOWDHURY
Prithwijit Roychowdhury, MD is an otolaryngology–head and neck surgery resident at Washington University School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the mechanistic basis of cochlear synaptopathy ("hidden hearing loss”) and understanding the injury signatures linking noise-induced excitotoxicity to permanent auditory synapse loss. He is passionate about bridging the gaps between laboratory research, noise-induced auditory injury, and evidence-based public health policies. Dr. Roychowdhury received his BS at Johns Hopkins University and MD from University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School where he was part of the Population Urban Rural Community Health (PURCH) track. He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the Association for Research in Otolaryngology and is a co-author of a noise pollution policy at the Massachusetts Medical Society.
