Thanks to advances in battery technology, brushless motors and controllers, cleaner, quieter and healthier alternatives to gas-based engines are available today, and only getting better. Quiet Communities sponsored a number of events at universities, parks, and government agencies in collaboration with the American Green Zone Alliance and others to educate people about the health and environmental impacts of gas-powered maintenance, and to demonstrate the growing availability of high quality, commercial grade equipment that performs comparably to gas-powered. A growing number of schools, municipalities, and private properties are taking steps to becoming more sustainable in their landscape maintenance practices.
